  Butterfly Garden (Panee Butterfly Farm)   Khao Takiab
               
    Located opposite Klai Kangwon Palace, this is the first butterfly and herbal garden in Hua Hin. Surrounded by diverse local plants from all over Thailand, it features varied species of butterflies, birds, orchids, flowers and herbal plants. It opens daily from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.     This hill is situated at the southern end of Hua Hin, only 4 kilometers from the town. It can be easily reached by local minibus. Visitors can go up the hilltop to enjoy a bird's eye view of Hua Hin, which is one of the delightful views either during the day or night. There is a temple call Wat Khao Takiab situated on top of the hill. The nearby Khao Takiab Beach offers mostly bungalow accommodations. The giant golden Buddha Statue standing against the cliff has become a landmark of Khao Takiab.
               
  Khao Krailat   Khao Tao
               
    Located near Khao Takiap, this steep hill lends its name to the temple that is located there. The temple belongs to a Buddhist denomination originally founded by King Rama IV and showcases a collection of large Buddha images dating back several hundred years.     This small beach at the foot of Khao Tao Hill lies about 10 kilometers south of Hua Hin. It is located on a pine-fringed beach and is more secluded than Hua Hin. The signature of the place is a large Buddha image which faces out to the sea. Bungalows are available.
               
  Suan Son Pradiphat or Sea Pine Tree Garden   Hua Hin Arts and Crafts Centre
               
    This beachside area belongs to the Army Welfare Office and is open to the public. It is at Kilometer 241, some 8 kilometers south of Hua Hin. This is a tranquil and relaxing place to visit with various restaurants and accommodations in the form of guesthouses, hotels and self-catering bungalows.     Situated in an old typical house on Naepkhehat Road, the center features a private collection of contemporary works of many Thai artists-paintings, sculptures and local handicrafts, as well as old furniture and many pictures about Hua Hin in the past.
               
  Tham Kaeo   Khao Chong Krachok
               
    is situated some 23 km. from Pran Buri or 15 km north of the park office. This cave is full of stalactites and stalagmites. Oil lamps can be rented at a nearby village for exploring the cave. Tham Sai, is 9 km north of the park office. Exploration inside the cave takes about half an hour. Oil lamps can be rented at nearby Khung Tanot Village.     From the foot of the hill in the north of the town, up 395 steps, sits a much revered monastery. There is a small pagoda and a troop of playful monkeys. The hill also offers a splendid panorama of the coastline and seascape.

Khao Hin Thoen Stone Park

               
    This locality has had historical importance since the reign of King Rama IV. The King made a trip to Wa Ko to witness the full moon eclipse. A long white sandy beach lined with pine trees offers a pleasant atmosphere. It is located at Km. 335 of Highway No. 4,12 km south from the town.     This is located to the west of the town. Travel along Highway No. 4 till Km. 331-332, then turn right and drive for another 8 km. Among large stones placed by nature in the area, there are narrow walks leading to wide rocky fields on the mountain top overlooking the view of the city and the sea.

Huai Yang Waterfall

               
    This Myanmar-Thailand border pass is located in Tambon Khiong Wan, 4 km from Khao Hin Thoen Stone Park. It used to be a strategic line for military movement in the past.     This 16-square kilometre-park covers a forested area on the Tanao Si Mountain Range. A 5-layer waterfall, Namtok Huai Yang, near the park office is its main attraction. The highest elevation is the 1,251-metre Khao Luang mountain. Admission is 100 baht per person. Accommodation is available near the park headquarters.

Hua Hin Night Market

               
    Definitely a vantage point to see the whole town of Hua Hin, the hill is located approximately 3 kilometers west of the town. The best time to see the city is in the early morning.     The most colorful spot in Hua Hin during the night, the market offer a wide array of food, drinks, deserts, memorable souvenirs; all kinds of freshly-prepared dishes. Famous are Pad Thai, Hoi Thod, fresh seafood, Indian roti bread, coconut ice cream, etc. (the list is endless) This market will delight visitors wishing to savor the real taste of Hua Hin.
               
  Animal Park   Chinese Temple
               
    Set up as a government-funded ‘deer research center’ Animal Park has a number of large deer enclosures and plenty of birds, many of which roam around the area. Monkeys are also plentiful with macaques, langurs and gibbons, some caged and some free. A canal system separates a couple of islands where gibbons live.

    A fantastic view from at least 20 metres up, the panorama from this Chinese temple is quite simply spectacular. Relatively modern, the temple is not the most amazing structure you will ever encounter but the view is pretty awesome and promises some great photo opportunities. Many of the local stores in Pranburi Town feature Chinese script over the shophouse door, displaying a strong Sino presence. Surrounding the temple there are some pretty mangroves.
               
  Maruekhathaiyawan Palace   Pak Num Pran
               
    Like so much in Hua Hin this summer seaside palace was built in the early 1920's during the reign of King Rama VI. It was designed by an Italian architect with lots of verandas, latticework and covered boardwalks using golden teak from the demolished Hat Chao Samran Palace.

    Just 10 minute’s drive from Pranburi town, Pak Num Pran is blessed with endless miles of white sandy beach, this is the stretch of coast between Hua Hin and Chumphon. A fine family attraction, this beach has yet to make it onto the Thailand international tourist trail and is generally favoured by affluent Thais. For those who want to find a secluded beach this is, for the most, nearly always deserted and is also a great place to spot dolphins. Affectionately called the ‘Sunrise Coast’ if you are here during the early hours you can certainly see why.
               
 

The Fishing Pier

    Going back to roots of the area, _to pay a visit to Hua Hin's fishing pier will give you an insight into the city’s fishing trade. There's no charge to fish or to go on the pier but there is a checking station on the way out to ‘have your fish checked for health’ – which could mean a lot of things. This is a great spot to view the boats in the gulf and is really quite charming around sunset.

    This Buddhist temple is home to the world’s largest statue of Luang Phor Thuad, a legendary southern Thai monk revered for his enlightenment and ability to perform miracles. Many believe that the amulets created in his image guarantee safety in times of distress.

Pa La-U Waterfall

  Sam Roi Yod National Park
               
    This beautiful 11-tiered rock waterfall is located in the densely verdant forest in the area of Kaengkrajan National Park where various kinds of birds and butterflies are found, especially in the morning. Some levels of the waterfall can be reached along a trekking trail parallel to the stream. The best time to watch butterflies is from 7.00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m. In addition, visitors may be able to spot wild animals and several species of rare birds. The best time to visit the fall is from November to April when the fall is at its most beautiful. The waterfall can be reached by local transportation from Hua Hin for a distance of 63 kilometers.     Located 63 kilometres south of Hua Hin in the vicinity of Kui Buri district, this coastal national park covers an area of 98 square kilometres with limestone mountains, mangrove swamps, and beaches. It is also home to various kinds of local and migrating birds, which are plentiful from November to February. With a large number of ridges, Khao Sam Roi Yot (or the mountain of 300 peaks) stands as a landmark for seamen and also provides a good shelter for ships during a storm. To get to the park, follow the direction signs marking the remaining distances of 38 and 15 kilometres at Km. 256 and Km.286.5, respectively.
               
 

Statue of King Naresuan and Neranchararam temple

    During the Ayutthaya period, King Naresuan the Great reined from 1590 to 1605 using Cha-Am as a meeting place before going to war with the Burmese in 1593. Situated in a little park that overlooks the sea, his statue is surrounded by cocks, the reason for this being that he was a cock-fighting enthusiast. A few metres further along from the statue on the left-hand side of the road is Neranchararam Temple. Here you can have a look at the six-armed Buddha image with each hand covering a sensory organ signifying the cutting off, or denying of the senses.

    Not just a themed open-air mall, Plearn Wan feels more like a living museum where you can experience a slice of life in 1950s Hua Hin. Plern Wan’s two-storey courtyard-style building, an architectural statement in itself, houses a community of period-style shops selling everything from liquor, inexpensive plastic and tin toys, snacks all the way to a beauty salon, photo studio, outdoor cinema screen and 20-room guesthouse or ‘Piman Plern Wan’.

Khao Singto (Lion Island)

    Located on the coast of Khao Takiab the name means ‘Lion Island’ due to the fact that from the air it resembles a crouching lion. The island is located about 10km from Hua Hin District and can be reached by taking a boat from Khao Takiab fishing village. Once there (roughly a 20-minute journey) most people enjoy soaking up the rays, sailing and fishing and for those who seek better acquaintance with Thailand’s marine life, snorkels can be rented. A round trip will last around five hours with the option of food for those who require it.     Situated 18 km north of Cha-Am this small beach resort town is famous for its statues in the sea depicting characters from one of Thailand’s most famous poets, Sunthon Phu. The much loved and revered poet created a piece of work Phra Aphai Mani which is 30,000 lines long! From humble beginnings he was educated at a temple and went on to write in a more simplistic style that was easily understood by the masses. This spot is very popular with Thai families who come here to appreciate the serene surroundings, the picnicking and to have fun in the sun.

Pranburi Forest Park

       
    Pranburi forest park is a project registered under the Queen’s patronage that seeks to protect the mangroves. There are two trails you can take once there, the one being the beach route where the seashore and the pine forest are prime attractions, the other being the mangrove nature trail, which has several types of flora. The park covers an area of 3.17 km² and is located at the mouth of the Pranburi River in the Klongkao- Klongkob National Reserve Forest. The plantlife is a combination of mixed forest and mangrove, which is incredibly beautiful and the Pranburi River runs through the park. Keep you eyes peeled for the animals that live here as you stand a good chance of seeing a porcupine, squirrel, chipmunk and even kingfishers.

Hua Hin Floating Market

       
    Hua Hin Floating Market is situated on a 40-rai plot of land. Again, the popular colonial theme is drawn upon as the style of choice for its architecture. Indeed, the two markets have much in common. This floating market is planning to feature about 130 shops of different types, and have dozens of boats cruising about selling tasty, hot meals, beverages, snacks, and fruit. Local performances will be held three times a day, and the Hua Hin Safari will be putting on elephant shows , always a popular event.
Opening Hours: The floating market is open seven days a week. During the weekend the opening hours are extended slightly.

Hua Hin Sam Phan Nam Floating Market

       
    The Hua Hin Sam Phan Floating Market is managed by Ayothaya Floating Market 2552 Co., which created the Ayutthaya Floating Market in Ayutthaya last year. Thus, they have experience in this area, and are sparing no expense in creating a world-class attraction in Hua Hin this time.The market will offer tourists a number of food and shopping areas with a traditional Siamese theme recalling the days of King Rama V and King Rama VI, a second phase is planned to open, this one based on the classical architecture of ancient Greece, as opposed to the more Victorian influences that Rama V was so fond of. Products from both within Thailand as well as more upscale brand name products from abroad will be sold here.
All in all, there will be some 200 food outlets and souvenir shops, scores of boats serving hot meals, live performances four times a day, and even a train service within the project with a reproduction of the Hua Hin Railway Station. Additionally, there will be an abundance of outdoor activities at this market, including a cable ski service, water screen shows and a paddle boat service to transport tourists around the spacious market.
